Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a golf ball capable of providing a cover having even thickness and capable of giving an excellent initial ball speed and spin performance by infiltrating the cover material into clearances of rubber threads without causing unwinding of the rubber threads in the case of using a wound core.
SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a golf ball formed of a core 1 and a polyurethane cover 2 includes a process (a) for forming the core, and a process (b) for filling a first half die 4 with the polyurethane composition for cover to obtain the predetermined gel condition, and for reversing the first half die 4 to be provided over a core half die 3, in which the core is arranged, and for fastening and heating for pres to form a golf ball intermediate molding, and for similarly filling a second half die 5 with the polyurethane composition to obtain the predetermined gel condition, and for providing the second half die under the first half die 4, and for fastening and heating for press to cover a residual half of the surface of the core 1 with the polyurethane cover.
