To provide a method of molding and manufacturing a golf club shaft made of fiber-reinforced resin with a taper angle shift point in the middle in the longitudinal direction where the taper angle changes, without air staying in the shaft base material.
In manufacturing this golf club shaft, the shaft base material 2 is formed of a pre-preg sheet made of reinforced fibers wound/layered around a core pole 1 whose diameter is different at both ends with a taper angle shift point (p) in the middle in the longitudinal direction, and the outer surface of the shaft base material 2 is wrapped with heat-contractile tapes 6a and 6b in a helical manner. In this case, at least two heat-contractile tapes 6a and 6b are used to wrap the shaft base material 2 starting at the taper angle shift point (p) toward either end (b) and (t) of the shaft respectively in a helical manner.
