Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a honeycomb structure capable of forming a slit at a honeycomb structure with satisfactory production efficiency at a satisfactory production cost, and a method for producing an electric heating type carrier.SOLUTION: A method for producing a honeycomb structure comprises: a molding step in which molding raw material comprising ceramic raw material is extrusion-molded to obtain a honeycomb molded body having an outer circumferential wall and a bulkhead for compartmentalizing plural cells forming a flow passage elongating either end face to the other end face; a drying step in which the honeycomb molded body is dried to obtain a honeycomb dried body; and a firing step in which the honeycomb dried body is fired to obtain a honeycomb fired body. The molding step produces the honeycomb molded body in which a part of the bulkhead is chipped so as to connect a part of the cells in the plural cells by extrusion-molding molding raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
