Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for generating iron-making hematite from leach residue by proposing a separation method of leach residue allowing for obtainment of a hematite-containing matter usable as an iron-making raw material.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing iron-making hematite includes using as the raw material leach residue in a slurry state, obtained from a wet refining plant of nickel oxide ore, using a high pressure acid leaching method. In more details, the method for manufacturing iron-making hematite performs sequentially at least: a first step of separating the leach residue in a slurry state into overflow and underflow, using a wet cyclone; a second step of separating the overflow into a component with strong magnetism and a component with weak magnetism, using a strong magnetic field magnetism separation apparatus using a magnetic force; and a third step of sintering the separated component with strong magnetism at 1,150-1,350°C to form a sintered body.
