To provide a method of manufacturing a large pore diameter mesoporous metal having uniform pore diameter exceeding 4 nm.
The method includes following steps. (1) A surfactant capable of forming a lyotropic liquid crystal having a size (particle diameter) of 5-50 nm and having uniform periodicity, a water soluble metallic salt, a volatile organic solvent and water are mixed (preparation of precursor solution). (2) The volatile organic solvent is preferentially volatilized from the precursor solution to form the lyotropic liquid crystal having a uniform size (particle diameter) of 5-50 nm. (3) The metal ion dissolved in the liquid crystal is reduced to deposit the metal around the lyotropic liquid crystal. (4) The lyotropic liquid crystal is treated with an aqueous solvent to be cleaned and removed to form the pores.
