Abstract:
This method for producing a lithium nickel composite oxide comprises: a mixing step for mixing a lithium compound and a nickel-containing metal composite compound with each other, thereby obtaining a mixture; and a firing step for firing the mixture. This method for producing a lithium nickel composite oxide is characterized in that: the volume-based 90% cumulative particle size D90 (μm), the volume-based 50% cumulative particle size D50 (μm) and the volume-based 10% cumulative particle size D10 (μm) of the lithium compound satisfy formula (1); and the ratio of the D50 of the lithium compound to the volume-based 50% cumulative particle size D50' (μm) of the nickel-containing metal composite compound, namely D50/D50' is 0.1 or more but less than 3.2. (D90 - D10)/D50 < 1.7 (1)
