Title:
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FOR LONG CHAIN ALIPHATIC AMINE OXIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001213859
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing for a long chain aliphatic amine oxide having a good color tone and low in residual hydrogen peroxide using only water without using an aqueous solvent such as an alcohol or the like.

In this method manufacturing a long chain aliphatic amine oxide by reacting a tertiary amine expressed by general formula (I) (R1 is an alkyl group or alkenyl group having 16-24 carbon atoms of straight or branched chain, R2 and R3 are each an alkyl group or hydroxyethyl group having same or different 1-3 carbon atoms.) and hydrogen peroxide to manufacture the corresponding amine oxide, only water is used as a solvent, in the oxidizing reaction, and the agitating speed is reduced to set the agitating power at 0.03-0.30 kW/m3 when the reaction rate reaches to 50-90%, and then continuing the reaction by increasing the agitating force again after dissolving gel in the reaction liquid.
