To provide a method for manufacturing a highly accurate machine component which achieves cost reduction and improvement of manufacturing efficiency, and a machine component.
A method for manufacturing a machine component includes: a coating step of forming a coating film 4 on the inner surface of a molding die 2; a base material forming step of performing electrocasting using the molding die 2 to form a base material 6 on the coating film 4; and a taking-out step of taking out the base material 6 from the molding die 2 together with the coating film 4.
