Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a metal can reduced in the concentration of discharged VOC and in the amount of paint used for an external surface.
The method for manufacturing a metal can includes the steps of: cupping a thin metal plate; deep-drawing and ironing a body; primarily washing and drying the body; applying base coat paint to the body; printing the body; painting the external surface of the body; necking the body; and secondary washing and drying the thus obtained body. In this method, water-base paint for the external surface is used in the step of painting the external surface.
