The invention relates to the method for manufacturing the metal hollow structure comprising at least two metal plates and having a joined portion where the metal plates are joined to each other and a hollow portion where a space is formed between the metal plates. The method comprises a step of applying an adhesive on the place of the metal plates where the joined portion is formed, a step of applying, on at least a part of the place of the metal plates where the hollow portion is formed, a gas-forming agent generating a gas at a predetermined or higher temperature, a step of forming a laminated body by overlapping one or more other metal plates over the metal plates, and a step of forming the hollow portion by heating the laminated body at the predetermined or higher temperature.
