To provide a method of manufacturing a metal ingot capable of assuring ingot quality and capable of determining the ingot quality in an early stage.
A control part calculates a chemical composition which is molten metal information from a measured specific resistance and performs control so that the chemical composition is to be a reference value. At the same time, it is always compared with a reference manufacturing condition (component range), and continuous monitoring is performed to see whether or not it goes out of the reference manufacturing condition. If the component composition comes out of the reference condition range, the control part calculates a position at which the molten metal coagulates to be an ingot based on a measurement position of the component composition (in short, acquisition position of molten metal information) and time thereof. The abnormal ingot position is sent to the following steps, and an ingot at the specified position is removed there.
