Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a metallic sintered compact by which handling of an injection molded compact after debinding can be facilitated and the metallic sintered compact having excellent corrosion resistance and magnetic properties, can be obtained.

The injection molded compact is prepared from a mixture formed by mixing metal powder and a thermoplastic binder. Temperature-rise rate when debinding the thermoplastic binder in an oxidizing atmosphere is regulated to be relatively low until temperature reaches to the vicinity of the melting point of the thermoplastic binder and relatively high after the temperature exceeds the vicinity of the melting point. By this procedure, debinding can be done to ≥99% carbon debinding ratio and the surface of the metal powder can be oxidized.
