Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a multi-layered shell member for the roll in a furnace capable of inexpensively and efficiently manufacturing a hearth roll having any external diameter or shell length.
SOLUTION: A cladding steel plate 13 obtained through the explosive cladding method is made as an original plate 14 for the shell member for the roll in the furnace. After performing a predetermined bending on the cladding steel plate 13, a tubular shell member is formed by welding each end surface. In addition, the shell member excellent in adhesion strength, heat conductivity, and efficiency for the roll in the furnace can be manufactured.
