Abstract:

To provide a light guide plate which provides optimum light use efficiency, cost reduction, optimum thinness and optimum brightness.

A method of manufacturing a nano-layered light guide plate includes: a step of forming by a coextrusion method a multi-layered molten sheet comprising a plurality of two or more different alternating material layers; and a step of casting the coextruded sheet into a nip between a pressure roller 478 and a pattern roller 480 to form a nano-layered sheet having a discrete micro-pattern on at least one principal surface thereof. The method further includes a step of cutting and finishing the extruded micro-patterned sheet to form the nano-layered light guide plate comprising a plurality of two or more different alternating material layers each having a thickness smaller than a quarter wavelength of visible light.
