To provide a method for manufacturing a negatively working lithographic printing plate which is not complicated and requires only a low-cost ink jet printer with the capability of performing the whole process under daylight environments and also has the same plate characteristics as an ordinary printing plate and lithographic printing characteristics.

This method for manufacturing the negatively working lithographic printing plate by ink jet printing uses a lithographic printing plate support and a lithographic printing plate precursor including an imaging layer containing a polymer binder which is soluble in an aqueous alkaline developing agent. The precursor is printed as per an image by an ink jet solution containing a chemical which can deteriorate the solubility of the binder in the aqueous alkaline developing agent. After the development process, the negatively working printing plate is obtained.
