To provide a method for manufacturing an ODF (one drop fill) liquid crystal panel improving the efficacy of a liquid crystal.
The method for manufacturing the ODF liquid crystal panel includes: a step to provide a first substrate 101 equipped with a first central part having a color pixel region 103 and a black matrix region 105 disposed on the surface and a first circumferential part 104 having no color pixel region or black matrix region and further provide a second substrate 109 equipped with a second central part and a second circumferential part; a step to form a sealant region 107 separated from the circumference of the black matrix region disposed on the first central part with a specified interval on the surface of the first circumferential part; a step to superimpose the surface of the first substrate having the sealant region formed thereon and the surface of the second substrate on each other; and a step to irradiate the sealant region with UV (ultraviolet) light from the first substrate side. The sealant is sufficiently hardened because the black matrix does not shield the UV light. As a result, contamination of the liquid crystal due to an imperfectly hardened sealant is prevented and the efficacy of a liquid crystal is improved.
