Abstract:

To provide a method allowing a refractive index of the resin layer to be adjusted and the minute shape to be molded, in the method for manufacturing an optical element having a resin layer on the surface of which a minute shape for performing optical path conversion is formed, and to provide the optical element obtained by this manufacturing method for a composition for forming a low refractive index layer which is useful for this manufacturing method.

The method for manufacturing the optical element includes an application process for applying a resin composition containing a resin and two or more solvents having different boiling points onto a transparent resin substrate 2 to form a coating film 3a, a first evaporation process for evaporating a part of two or more solvents included in the coating film 3 to form a resin film 3b having fluidity in a range for forming the minute shape and holding the shape after formation, a molding process for forming the minute shape on a surface of the resin film 3b and a second evaporation process for evaporating the solvents remaining in the resin film 3b to form a resin layer 3c.
