To provide a method for providing a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer without protruding it out from the bottom face of an ornamental body, and to provide an ornamental article with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer only within the region of the bottom face of the ornamental body by this method.

The method comprises a process for providing a double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet material by laminating a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and a release sheet on a base sheet with releasing properties, a process for mold-punching the releasing sheet and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer from the top of the releasing sheet by a blade mold to remove unnecessary parts and leaving the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer with a mold-punched shape on the base sheet, a process for positioning the base sheet on which this pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is left and a guide panel with an approximately same dimension as the shape on the base sheet at a specified position by a positioning means and for fixing and mounting them, and a process for inserting the ornamental body with the shape into the mold hole and sticking the pressure-sensitive layer on the underside of the ornamental body.
