To provide a method of manufacturing an outer ring having a mounting portion 12 on its outer peripheral face without cutting flow of a metallic material composing the outer ring.
An intermediate material 23 having the outer peripheral face shape substantially agreed with the outer peripheral face shape of the outer ring to be made, is internally fitted to a die having the inner peripheral face shape corresponding to the outer peripheral face shape of the outer ring. Then a mandrel 25 of which an outer peripheral face has the bus line shape agreed with the bus line shape of an inner peripheral face of the outer ring, is inserted into an inner diameter side of the intermediate material 23. Then rolling processing is performed by pressing the outer peripheral face of the mandrel 25 to the inner peripheral face of the intermediate material 23 while rotating the mandrel 25 and the intermediate material 23. Thus plastic deformation of the inner peripheral face shape of the intermediate material 23 is performed into the inner peripheral face shape of the outer ring to be obtained.
