To provide a novel method for manufacturing pentadiene alone or copolymer, and to provide a polymer.
A method for manufacturing includes a polymerization process that polymerizes pentadiene by using a polymerization catalyst composition containing a metallocene complex comprising a central metal M which is scandium (Sc), a ligand Cp* comprising a substituted cyclopentadienyl derivative, a monoanionic ligands Q1 and Q2 and a neutral Lewis base L, and an ionic compound comprising a non-coordinating anion and cation as a catalyst.
