Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a photocatalytic body from a peroxo-modified anatase sol, which photocatalytic body has no problem in adhesive strength to a substrate and in which the original functions of the peroxo-modified anatase sol as a photocatalyst can be kept satisfactorily.

The method for manufacturing the photocatalytic body from the peroxo-modified anatase sol comprises the steps of: heating or heating under pressure a peroxotitanic acid solution, which is a starting material of the peroxo-modified anatase sol, to precipitate an anatase crystal; reacting the precipitated anatase crystal with oxygenated water to obtain a synthetic material; and using the obtained synthetic material as a coating agent. Alternatively, at least two kinds of synthetic materials obtained by changing the time to be required to perform the step of heating or heating under pressure the peroxotitanic acid solution are mixed with each other and the obtained mixture is used as the coating agent.
