A piston having a multilayer solid lubricating film is manufactured by method including a molding step S1 for molding a piston material, a washing step S2 for washing and drying the piston material after the molding step S1, a first film forming step S3 coating a first film forming coating material used for forming a first solid lubricating film forming an under layer onto the respective skirt parts of the piston material by screen printing after the washing step S2, a second film forming step S4 for coating a second film forming coating material used for forming a second solid lubricating film forming an upper layer to a body to be coated by nontouching air spray before the first film forming coating material is dried after the first film forming step S3, and a firing step S5 for drying and hardening both the film forming coating materials after the second film forming step S4.
