Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deformation of a side-reinforcement layer.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a pneumatic tire includes the steps of: winding a carcass ply 18 around the outer periphery of a molding drum 30; placing a pair of bead members 16 each provided with a bead core 12 and a bead filler 14 on the outer periphery of the carcass ply 18 that has been wound; bending the bead filler 14 inwards in the drum axis direction; and folding back a side portion 18B of the carcass ply 18 inwards in the drum axis direction. A side reinforcement layer 20 provided between a folded-back portion 18A of the carcass ply 18 and the bead filler 14 is adhered on an outer peripheral surface of the side portion 18B of the carcass ply 18 and the side portion 18B is folded back inwards in the drum axis direction. Thereby the side reinforcement layer 20 is laid along a side surface of the bead filler 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
