Abstract:
To inhibit the generation of a gel or the like in a manufacturing process in manufacturing a gas barrier polyester film and thereby enhance the economy and quality of the film.
A biaxially oriented polyester film showing an oxygen permeability of 300 ml/m2/day/MPa (in terms of thickness of 12 μm) or less is manufactured by mixing 60 to 90 pts.mass of polyester composed mainly of a polyethylene terephthalate and 40 to 10 pts.mass of polyamide composed mainly of a polymethaxylyleneadipamide and melting the mixture. In this method, the difference between the temperature of the polyamide resin and that of the polyester resin during mixing is set within the range of 20°C.
