Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a polyimide resin suitable for the preparation of a gas separation membrane having a high degree of polymerization, endowed with both mechanical strengths and flexibility, exhibiting a favorable coating-film forming ability, and excellent in terms of both gas permeability and gas separation selectivity.

This method for manufacturing a polyimide resin includes a step of mixing a specified tetracarboxylic dianhydride and a specified aromatic diamine compound under a temperature condition of below 0°C and then polymerizing the mixture.
