To provide a method for manufacturing a porous metal by which a porous metal of arbitrary porosity can be manufactured.
The porous metal can be manufactured by preparing a mixture in which metal powder, a water-soluble binder, a surfactant and water are mixed and a non-water-soluble hydrocarbon organic solvent is added, shaping the mixture into a plate, making it foam by heating to prepare foam metal 10, allowing the foam metal 10 to support metal powder 11 and then carrying out sintering (where copper-oxide powder is used as the metal powder 11) or preparing a mixture in which metal powder, a water-soluble binder, a surfactant and water are mixed and a non-water-soluble hydrocarbon organic solvent is added, shaping the mixture into a plate state, making it foam by heating to prepare foam metal 10, allowing the foam metal 10 to support metal slurry 17 and then carrying out sintering.
