To provide a method for manufacturing a press fitting part that is formed of a thin cylindrical member and press fitted into a part to be press fitted, and which can assure the circularity of an inner peripheral surface of the press fitting part after being press fitted, over the whole region of the inner peripheral surface efficiently and economically.

The method for manufacturing the press fitting part 1 that is press fitted into the part 2 to be press fitted having an inner periphery constituted of a hole with a circular-shape in cross section view, includes: forming the press fitting part 1 with the thin cylindrical member; preliminary configuring a specification value T2 for defining a circularity tolerance for the inner periphery of the part 2 to be press fitted and a specification value T3 for defining a tolerance for thickness dimensional difference (ΔD) of the press fitting part 1; processing an inner peripheral surface 2a of the inner periphery of the part 2 to be press fitted based on the specification value T2, and also processing the inner peripheral surface 1a and an outer peripheral surface 1b of the press fitting part 1 based on the specification value T3; and then press fitting the press fitting part 1 into the inner periphery of the part 2 to be press fitted while deforming the press fitting part 1 according to a shape of the inner periphery of the part 2 to be press fitted.
