To provide a method of manufacturing a press-formed metal material which can suitably press a metal material in a complicated shape, and especially can suitably press a metal material inferior in press formability such as a titanium plate, and provide a method of manufacturing a member for a heat exchanger.
A method of manufacturing a press-formed metal material includes: a graphite coating process S1 of coating graphite on a surface of a metal material; a press-forming process S3 of pressing the metal material with the graphite coated; and a graphite removing process S4 of removing the graphite from the press-formed metal material. The graphite coated in the graphite coating process is either of flake graphite powder, scale-like graphite powder, expanded graphite powder, and pyrolytic graphite powder, or graphite powder mainly containing them.
