To provide a method for manufacturing a printed matter characteristically having a metal foil adhered thereon without spoiling texture of the base paper and furthermore having a print pattern layer mounted thereon using a sheet offset press.

The method for manufacturing a printed matter includes: adhering a metal foil on a part or the whole of one surface or both surfaces of a recording medium using a cold stamp foil transfer method via an adhesive layer provided by a sheet offset press, the recording medium having on the base paper thereof a coating layer of 2.0 g/m2 or more by mass of the solid content per surface, colloidal silica of 30 nm or less in the average particle diameter being contained in the coating layer as dye at 90 pts.mass or higher of 100 pts.mass of the solid content of the whole dye; and thereafter providing a print pattern layer on the surface of the metal foil or a non-adhesive part of the metal foil using the sheet offset press, thereby characteristically adhering the metal foil without spoiling the texture of the base paper and providing the print pattern layer using the sheet offset press.
