Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a printing plate material capable of being directly formed into a plate from digital data, imparting practically sufficient image quality without requiring a developing process and a developer, and being regenerated to be repeatedly used, and to provide a method for regenerating the printing plate material and a printing press.
SOLUTION: The printing plate material P has a hydrophilic coating layer containing a titanium oxide photocatalyst. A hydrophobic image line 4a is formed on at lest a part of the coating layer by an organic compound having both of a property reacted with or fixed to the surface of the coating layer 3 by heat treatment, and a property decomposed and removed by the irradiation with light having energy higher than the band gap energy of the titanium oxide photocatalyst. Therefore, if the organic compound layer 4 is formed on the coating layer 3 to be heat-treated, the image line 4a can be written, and, if the organic compound layer 4 of a non-heated part is removed, a non-image line 5 can be formed and a function as the printing plate material can be imparted.
