To provide a profiled cross-section plated pin terminal manufacturing method for providing a profiled cross-section plated pin terminal of excellent insertion/extraction property.
A copper base plating and a tin outer layer plating are performed on a wire 5 of circular cross-section. A profiled cross-section plated wire 9 of square cross-section is formed by using a rolling device 8 using two sets of rolling reduction roll pairs 6, 6, 7, and 7 facing so as to be orthogonal to each other. The profiled cross-section plated pin terminal 10 is manufactured by cutting the wire to an adequate length while leaving the work hardening caused by the rolling. The profiled cross-section plated pin terminal of excellent insertion/extraction can be manufactured.
