Abstract:

To provide a method for industrially manufacturing an excellent proton conductive polymer electrolyte film by a graft polymerization.

The method for manufacturing the proton conductive polymer electrolyte film includes: a process for irradiating resin fine particles; a process for obtaining a particulate graft polymer by graft-polymerizing a vinyl compound to the resin fine particles in the solid-liquid two phase system in which the resin fine particles which has been irradiated maintains a solid phase in a liquid phase containing the vinyl compound and a solvent; a process for obtaining a sulfonated polymer by sulfonating the graft polymer; a process for obtaining a stabilized polymer by converting a sulfonic acid group in the sulfonated polymer into a sulfonic acid group precursor; a process for forming a film by melt-forming the stabilized polymer; and a process for converting the sulfonic acid group precursor in the film into a sulfonic acid group.
