Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet, by which a rare earth magnet having a high residual magnetic flux density can be manufactured.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet comprises: a preparation step of preparing hydrogenated powder including Nd, Fe, Cu and B and including hydrogenated particles subjected to a hydrogenation treatment at a temperature equal to or higher than a disproportionation temperature in a hydrogen-containing atmosphere; a molding step of performing a pressure molding of the hydrogenated powder to manufacture a powder compact; a dehydrogenation step of performing a dehydrogenation treatment on the powder compact in an inactive atmosphere or reduced-pressure atmosphere at a temperature equal to or higher than a recombination temperature, and forming a dehydrogenated body having main phases of a NdFeB compound, and grain boundary phases formed at crystal grain boundaries of the main phases, and including Nd and Cu, and having a melting point lower than that of the main phases; and a melting step of melting the grain boundary phases to react them with the main phases, thereby causing their recrystallization.SELECTED DRAWING: None
