To provide a method of manufacturing a ribbon microphone by which the tension of a ribbon type diaphragm can be adjusted with uniform quality without the need for a skill and the vibrating state of the ribbon type diaphragm can easily be monitored.
The method includes magnets 11, 12 for forming a magnetic field and the ribbon type diaphragm 5 both ends of which in the length direction are retained, and for transducing vibration of the ribbon type diaphragm 5 upon receiving a sound wave into an electric signal. A vibration means vibrates the ribbon type diaphragm 5 and an operator adjusts the tension of the ribbon type diaphragm while observing the amplitude of the vibration. The vibration means acts like a signal source for vibrating the ribbon type diaphragm 5 in cooperation with the magnetic field by supplying a signal current to the ribbon type diaphragm 5 or to a speaker for emitting a sound wave to the ribbon type diaphragm 5. The vibration of the ribbon type diaphragm may be observed by allowing a strobe light emitting unit whose light emission period is variable to emit light.
