Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fabricating a structurally robust rotor assembly capable of maintaining mechanical balance and electrical performance over wide temperature, torque, and rotational speed ranges, by utilizing pre-fabricated conductive rotor bars and die cast end rings.SOLUTION: A plurality of containment rings, which may be installed on a plurality of end rings either before or after casting, may be used to inhibit end ring creep at high rotational speeds.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
