Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a separator for a lithium ion secondary battery, in which the separator making distribution of the coating amount of coating liquid uniform and having proper battery characteristics can be stably produced in a long size, even when a base material is thin.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a separator for a lithium ion secondary battery, in which coating liquid including inorganic or organic particles is applied to a base material, is characterized as follows: the coating liquid is supported on the base material by making the base material pass vertically downward through the coating liquid between two bent blades installed in such a manner that a cutting edge of the blade is directed downward; and subsequently, the surplus coating liquid is squeezed in the narrowest clearance part between the bent blades.
