To provide a method for manufacturing a shower plate which is composed of a ceramics/metal composite material and by which small-diameter holes can be finely formed.

A preform having holes is prepared using ceramic powder or ceramic fiber as a reinforcement. Stainless steel or machinable ceramics is inserted into the holes of the preform. Aluminum or aluminum alloy melted at 700-900°C in nitrogen is infiltrated into the preform under no pressure to prepare a composite material. Then the stainless-steel or machinable-ceramics part of the composite material is perforated. By this method the shower plate can be manufactured.
