Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a skin for a robot capable of producing a male mold relatively easily without taking time and capable of manufacturing a skin for a robot having a nonuniform thickness like a human being.SOLUTION: The method includes steps of: acquiring still image data of a human face: generating three-dimensional shape data of the human face; creating a first three-dimensional object reproducing the three-dimensional shape of the human face; preparing a female mold based on the first three-dimensional object as a prototype; creating a second three-dimensional object in which the three-dimensional shape of the human face is reproduced with a scale smaller than that of the first three-dimensional object; processing the second three-dimensional object to create a male mold; and injecting a skin material into a space formed between the female mold and the male mold to perform molding. Of the surface of the second three-dimensional object, areas corresponding to portions having thin skins are processed to be protruded, and areas corresponding to portions having thick skins are processed to be depressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
