To provide a method for manufacturing a sliding member, which improves adhesion between the surface of a substrate formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and a silver film.
A polyamide imide resin 24 having a thermosetting property is coated on an outer circumferential surface 11 of a body 10, a slurry 28 in which silver particles are dispersed in terpineol is coated on the polyamide imide resin 24 before the polyamide imide resin 24 is set, wire materials 51 are stuck to the coated slurry 28 and the polyamide imide resin 24 to apply vibration to the slurry 28 and the polyamide imide resin 24, and thereafter, the slurry 28, the polyamide imide resin 24 and the body 10 are heated to set the polyamide imide resin 24, as well as the terpineol is removed. Thus, the silver particles are fused with each other on the surface of the polyamide imide resin 24 to form a sliding surface 22.
