To prevent a coating from getting defective caused by an engraved mark, to secure optical performance of a spectacle lens, and to improve a manufacturing yield.
The method of manufacturing the spectacle lens includes: forming an optical face of a curved face shape and a face characteristic satisfying optical specifications of the spectacle lens of the order, in a lens blank that is a lens base material comprising a plastic material; and forming the engraved mark on the optical face by a laser beam, immediately after polishing the optical face. The engraved mark is formed as an engraved mark raised in a protrusion shape. After forming the mark, a coating layer (photochromic coating film, hard code coating film) is formed on the optical face to block the atmospheric pressure, and the mark is sealed by the coating layer.
