To provide a method of manufacturing a steel plate having a non-magnetic spot which is a desired non-magnetic spot formed by steady heating through current passing without extremely precise processing.
According to the method of manufacturing the steel plate having a non-magnetic spot, a reforming material held between two magnetic steel plates is melted together with the steel surrounding the reforming material to generate an austenitic phase partially in the steel. The manufacturing method includes a step of superposing together the two magnetic steel plates having their respective slots so that the slots face each other and placing the reforming material in a space formed by the slots facing each other to keep the reforming material held between the slots, a step of bending a reforming material holding spot of one of the two magnetic steel plates toward the reforming material into a convex shape, and a step of applying current to the two magnetic steel plates and the reforming material at the reforming material holding spot.
