Abstract:
A process for producing a stretched film, the process comprising: a stretching step in which a film of a thermoplastic resin is uni- or bidirectionally stretched in the state of being heated to or above the glass transition temperature Tg of the thermoplastic resin; a cooling step in which the stretched film is cooled at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature Tg; and a thermal relaxation step in which the cooled film is thermally relaxed by heating at a heat treatment temperature Tr that is not lower than the glass transition temperature Tg for a thermal relaxation time that is not shorter than a lower-limit treatment time tmin calculated with the following equation (1). (In the equation (1), A, B, C, and θ0 are coefficients determined by the kind of the thermoplastic resin and stretching conditions in the stretching step, фmin is the orientation angle (°) of the stretched film to be obtained, and L is the width (mm) of the stretched film to be obtained.)
