Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing WC powder having an extremely narrow particle size distribution.
In a method for manufacturing tungsten carbide powder, at least one organic or inorganic metal salt of group IV, group V and group VI in periodic table, preferably Cr, V, Mo and W, is dissolved in at least one polar solvent, and WO3 powder is added to the solution, and the solvent is evaporated, and remaining powder is heat-treated in a reducing atmosphere and mixed with carbon and carbonized.
