Abstract:
To provide method for manufacturing a super water absorbing polymer(SAP), from a polyacrylonitrile(PAN) by alkali hydrolysis in emulsion in which SAP having pH 7 or less is manufactured without using an alcohol or the other organic solvent for the isolation.
The method for manufacturing SAP with auxiliary processes consists of (a) manufacture of a PAN emulsion, (b) alkali hydrolysis of the emulsion, (c) neutralization by an acid, (d) drying of the product, (e) grinding of the dried product and (f) modification of the surface of the ground product.
