Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a thrust bearing component part to reduce the manufacturing costs and further improve a mechanical property by simplifying the manufacturing process.

As a starting material (S21) for a cold-rolled strip obtained by cold-rolling high carbon steel containing carbon of 0.9 to 1.2 wt.%, chromium of 1.2 to 1.7 wt.%, manganese of 0.1 to 0.5 wt.%, and silicon of 0.15 to 0.35 wt.%, the method for manufacturing the thrust bearing component part contains a process (S22) for obtaining a predetermined shape by press working, a process (S24) for obtaining the predetermined mechanical property by heat treatment, and a process (S25) for removing a scale produced by the heat treatment. Further, the thrust bearing component part is manufactured without grinding process after heat-treating process.
