Abstract:

To inexpensively manufacture a thrust plate having a groove on its inner peripheral face, in a constitution of a dynamic pressure bearing formed by using a shaft obtained by fitting the thrust plate to a shaft main body.

This thrust plate 46 is a member configurating the shaft 15 for the dynamic pressure bearing, with the shaft main body 45 composing a part of a radial bearing part at its outer peripheral face, has the circular shape having a center hole to fit the shaft main body 45 therein, and is provided with thrust faces 47, 48 configurating a part of the thrust bearing part on its both end faces. This method of manufacturing the thrust plate 46 comprises an extended pipe forming process for forming a cylindrical extended pipe 61 having the center hole, a drawing process for obtaining a drawn material 62 by drawing the extended pipe 61, and forming the groove on the inner peripheral face 61b, and a cutting process for cutting the drawn material 62 in the radial direction to form a plurality of disc members.
