To provide a method for manufacturing a toothed belt in which the molding of a tooth part can be facilitated without necessity of using a special tooth cloth having a high stretchability.
The method for manufacturing the toothed belt comprises the steps of superposing the tooth cloth 5 on a tooth type premolding mold 8 formed by providing tooth molding grooves 6 and tooth bottom molding protrusions 7, sequentially inserting a plurality of groove retaining fixtures 9 disposed at the upper side of the cloth 5 corresponding to the grooves 6 from one end side into the grooves 6, and thereby sequentially pushing the cloth 5 into the grooves 6 from one end side. The method further comprises the steps of then retaining the cloth 5 on the mold 8 by an end retaining fixture 10, and then removing the fixtures 9 from the grooves 6. The method also comprises the steps of superposing a rubber sheet 11 on the cloth 5, pressing the cloth 5, pushing the sheet 11 to the grooves 6 of the mold 8 to mold the tooth 3 and the tooth bottom 4 between the teeth 3, and laminating the cloth 5 on the surfaces of the tooth 3 and the teeth bottom 4.
