To provide a method by which, when manufacturing a transparent member for a transparent radio wave absorber, a portion to be patterned is selectively patterned properly and debris can be restrained from being deposited on the transparent member.

The method of manufacturing the transparent member for the radio wave absorber including a transparent base and a patterned conductive layer formed on the transparent base, includes the steps of: (a) installing the conductive layer on the first surface of the transparent base; (b) installing an adhesive layer on the conductive layer; (c) patterning only the conductive layer, between the transparent base and the conductive layer, by irradiating the transparent base with a laser beam, having a substantially transparent wavelength, from the side of a second surface opposite to the first surface of the transparent base; and (d) removing the adhesive layer on the patterned conductive layer.
