Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a low-cost V-ribbed belt, by which scraps are prevented from being generated by eliminating a ribbed groove cutting step and belts of various peripheral lengths can be molded by biaxial molding.

This method for manufacturing a V-ribbed belt comprises (1) a step to impart a tension to a cylindrical rubber body 15 by installing it on a main shaft side mold 17 and a driven shaft side mold 18, each having a recessed part 19 and a projecting part 20 alternately formed by installing the cylindrical rubber body 15 on the molds 17 and 18, (2) a step to emboss the cylindrical rubber body 15 with the help of the recessed part 19 and the projecting part 20 of each of the molds 17 and 18 by pressing the back of the cylindrical rubber body 15, (3) a step to manufacture a belt molded product 27 by winding a core 22 and a belt back member 25 around the back of the cylindrical rubber body 15, (4) a step to heat the belt molded product 27 and continuously vulcanize the product 27 by pressurizing the back of the belt molded product 27 while tightly holding the back between a pair of pressurizing belts 34 and (5) a step to finish a V-ribbed belt by moving the paired pressurizing belts 34 in a direction where the belts 34 become gradually apart from the belt molded product 27 after vulcanization and unloading a cooled belt sleeve 38 from the main shaft side mold 17 and the driven shaft side mold 18.
