Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a V-ribbed belt having excellent accuracy and quality of a rib shape and shortening a frictional rolling processing time by efficiently grinding a V-shaped groove by suppressing heating of a compressed rubber layer at a vulcanizing sleeve of the V-ribbed belt and an apparatus for preprocessing.
SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the V-ribbed belt for grinding the V-shaped groove on the vulcanizing sleeve 8 of the V-ribbed belt by a grinding wheel 12 comprises the steps of cutting a rough skin layer 9 of an outer surface layer of the sleeve 8, planely polishing the layer with a grindstone having a rough grain size, then cutting one to plural times the layer to cut to divide the layer into a small width. An apparatus for manufacturing the V-ribbed belt is provided. The apparatus for preprocessing integrates the cut layers with a preprocessing step, and integrally preprocessing them. As a result, in the grinding of the V-shaped groove on the sleeve 8, a rolling grinding load can be reduced and a rolling grinding time can be shortened as well as the grinding step can be separated. From this, heating received by the sleeve 8 and heat storage are suppressed, a rib shape change during processing due to a heat shrinkage is alleviated. Thus, the quality of the V-ribbed belt is improved and productivity is improved.
